Candle Safety
There are certain safety measures that have to be adhered to when burning any candle. The most notable and obvious is that as a candle has a naked flame, it should never be left unattended. I would even go so far as to say it should always be within site just in case any mishaps occur.
A candle should never be placed on a surface that is not heat resistant. I use a toughened glass disc or an ashtray to sit my container candles on. That way, when the container heats up it will not damage any surfaces.
It should never be placed in a draft as this can cause the flame to flare and soot. If this happens it is better to extinguish the candle, either with the lid or a flame snuffer and move to a less draughty location. Even walking by the candle can cause a draft. Never use water to extinguish.
Never leave children or pets near a candle. The wax melt pool and container can become very hot and children and pets may accidentally knock it over causing scolding or a fire.
Trim the wick to 1/2 cm before each burn to ensure the flame is not too large. Always make sure the surface is free from wick trimmings and debris as these can catch fire.
It’s is advisable to discard your candle with 1 cm of wax remaining at the bottom as the remaining wax can catch fire when the wick has burned down too low.
Wax Melt Safety
Only place wax melts in the well of the wax warmer. Never place water near the wax.
Use with an unscented tea light and trim the tea light wick to 1/2 cm.
Keep out of reach of children and pets as the wax becomes very hot when melted.
Do not move the unit while tea light is lit and/or the wax has melted as accidental spillage can cause harm and damage.
Remove the wax when it has hardened and it has stopped producing scent.
Don’t try to poke the wax out with a sharp object instead burn a tealight for 2 minutes and the hardened wax will become loose and easy to push out of the well.
Car Diffuser Safety
Unscrew the lid and gently remove the stopper avoiding spilling contents.
Replace the lid and gently tilt the bottle to soak the cork and string, do not hold continuously upside down as this will cause the product to leak.
Hang the diffuser from your rearview mirror but don’t leave too much swing as it could hit the windscreen.
Avoid any liquid coming into contact with the dashboard or upholstery as fragrance oil reacts with plastic, laquer and polish and damage will occur.
If this does occur wash immediately with soap and warm water to avoid damage.
It is not corrosive to skin but if in contact with skin or eyes wash immediately with soap and warm water and seek medical advice if necessary.
Do not let children or pets play with the product.
